This is paper was presented in 1988. It discusses the problems faced while building Large-Scale Concurrent Systems and compares them with those of Distributed Databases. It also discusses the ‘Actor Model’ and ‘Object Oriented Programming’ as possible models that can be used to build Concurrent Systems.
