GIE Casa Mas Group has raised a loan of $1,675 to start a restaurant on the beach in Carabane, Senegal. Their village is in the tourism zone and transit point for Spanish tourists. While I was looking for projects to lend to, I realized that there where no loan requests from India. I dug a little and Kiva doesn’t even have a ‘Field Partner’ there. On May 19, 2008 I contributed towards the loan request from Ilgar Quliyev along with 36 other Kiva lenders. Ilgar has a shop and he has borrowed money to increase the inventory.
